The Exmoor pony and Exmoor's famous red deer are something you should look out for during your stay on Exmoor. This picture was taken by www.nordicwalkingdevon.co.uk at Wimbleball Lake near Brompton Regis where the Iron Man Competition takes place each year.

Snowdrop Valley in February, bluebells in the spring followed by heather moorland give Exmoor an ever changing landscape to enjoy.

Exmoor coast

Exmoor has a coastline of spectacular cliffs, secret coves and golden beaches together with heather clad moorland and sparkling river valleys.

There are few places in Britain that lay claim to such a beautiful combination of stunning landscapes as Exmoor National Park and in particular the National Trust village of Selworthy on the Holnicote Estate near Porlock where you will find Selworthy Farm

It has easy access to the Coleridge Way and South West Coastal Path and there are many places along the route for you to stay.

The medieval village of Dunster with its cobbled streets, quaint shops and castle are another popular place to visit.

Exmoor is a wonderful place for walking and taking in the beautiful scenery. Geoff Bannister has produced a series of walks and they can be found by clicking on this link www.geoffbannister.com/walks.html

Along the coast you will find Porlock Weir, Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin.

An open top coastal bus will take you along the coastal route to Lynton and Lynmouth giving you spectacular inland and coastal views. Remember to take your camera!
